I do only HITS, says Salman!

Recently, when Ashutosh Gowariker approached Salman Khan with a script, the dynamic actor politely refused saying “I don’t do good films. I do hit films. I work in films that make money, not the ones that get awards.”
Salman added, “I arrive in the afternoon and shoot at my own pace. You’re used to working with other actors who reach the set on the dot at 9 am and work according to your pace.”

Apparently, Slaman Khan has decided not to do films for friends or bail out distressed filmmakers in trouble, who approach him in the hope of a hit. If buzz is to be believed, this is Salman’s new career plan.
However, the Lagaan director has laughed off all such reports calling it simply rumors. He say, “How I wish that were true. I’d love to do a film with him. No such luck.”
Well, only time will tell us what the truth is.

Films Can Wait For Aishwarya!

Beauty queen Aishwarya Rai has no plans on coming back in films, anytime soon. As of now, the gorgeous actress is very content changing her baby’s nappies.
Buzz had it that Ash is all ready to make a comeback very soon, with ‘Bajirao’, a Sanjay Leela Bansali film and that she is super excited to work opposite Shahrukh Khan.
However, as a source tells a tabloid, “SLB and Shah Rukh have spoken about a role. But it is certainly not Bajirao. As for Aishwarya it would be quite a while, at least a year before she even contemplates returning to movies.”
Initially, i.e. way back in 2001, when Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai were dating, Sanjay thought to cast the two love birds in ‘Bajirao’. However, things didn’t materialize. Buzz had it that SRK will now jump into Sallu’s shoes for the film.
However, a source says, it is just a rumor and a trick to intensify the Khan war.
Coming back to Aishwarya Rai, the actress will not make a comeback anytime soon and is probably on a one year long leave.

Baby Resembles Aishwarya

Now that the frenzy surrounding the birth of Baby B is over, speculation has arisen over who Aishwarya's daughter resembles the most. If reports are to be believed, she is a carbon copy of her mom.
Grandpa Big B himself stated in his blog that her eyes resemble Aishwarya, though not in exact terms. He said the baby's eyes are light, which means they resemble her mother's.
"Occasionally she opens her large and what now looks to be eyes of the lighter hue..." said Amitabh.
Amitabh also recalled memories of having handed over Abhishek as a baby to his father Harivansh Rai Bachchan, saying it was similar feeling when he held his new grand daughter in his arms.
The Bachchans also thanked the media for showing restraint in the coverage of the birth and for respecting the privacy of the family.
"As I travel back from the hospital I need to thank the media for keeping their word of not intruding our privacy. Deeply obliged...We will give time to both electronic and print media .. PR will be setting up!" Amitabh tweeted.
Abhishek too thanked the media, stating, "And a very special mention to ALL of the media for being so thoughtful, kind and respectful. Truly appreciate it. Thank you."

Will Aishwarya Rai deliver on Nov 11?

If rumors are to be believed, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is due for a November second week dilevery. The actress is currently in her third trimester of pregnancy.
Buzz also has it that fans and friends of the actress are gearing up to receive bets on the exact date that Ash will deliver.
Talks among people are that Ash will deliver on 11-11-2011.
“It is a unique date which has people excited and has raised the bar for the bets,” says the one of them.
Another source says, “The stakes will change as November approaches as one will get a clearer idea of when the actor is actually due,”
“The best part is that the mother herself will have no control over the exact due date. So it’s all guess work and that is what has raised the stakes here,” says the source.
“It’s not about money, but I truly wish that the Bachchan’s have the privilege of bringing a newborn in this world on an unique day. It only befits an unique family, doesn’t it?’” he adds.

What is common among films like Suhaag, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Baagbaan? All these films have one thing similar in the sense that there were scenes of Karva Chauth. Karva Chauth is considered to be a romantic festival, symbolizing the love between a husband and wife.
It has been celebrated in Bollywood movies such as Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, where an unmarried woman signals her love for a man by keeping the fast for him and he reciprocates by demonstrating his concern for her during the day and breaking her fast by feeding her at moonrise, and Baghban, in which a man persuades his elderly fasting wife to break her fast over the telephone because they have been separated by their uncaring children.

Those who know about Bollywood say that Karva Chauth is celebrated among Bollywood stars in a big way. “ I think as Bollywood is full of people from Punjab or with Punjabi background,that is why they celebrate it,” Harish Chandra says.

When Mahie Gill Got Drunk!

The director of the forthcoming film Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster, Tigmanshu Dhulia, told the media recently that lead actor Mahie Gill took her alcoholic character in the film, way too seriously while shooting for a song and dance sequence. The director said that the actor asked him whether she could have a peg of vodka before giving the shot. Tigmanshu agreed thinking that the actor wanted to get into her element. But it took quite a while for the camera to be set up and Mahie downed a few more pegs as she waited for the shot to be ready. “After a few drinks she couldn’t even perform simple steps and somehow I wrapped up the shooting,” said the director. When the actor came to know that Tigmanshu was angry with her she flew back to Mumbai from the location of the shoot in Gujarat. She had to be convinced that everything was fine. Well, Mahie, it’s not always good to get into the skin of your character!

Amitabh Bachan in Hollywood Movie The Great Gatsby

After over four decades of contribution to Hindi cinema, Amitabh Bachchan is finally stepping out! At 68, he is ready to make his Hollywood debut with Baz Luhrmann’s “The Great Gatsby”, which has “Titanic” star Leonardo DiCaprio in the lead.

Amitabh, who is lovingly called Big B in the Indian film industry, is the latest to join the cast of the romantic drama, along with Scottish-Australian actress Isla Fisher. He will play the role of Meyer Wolfsheim, said an official statement from Warner Bros Pictures.

The $125 million project is a 3D adaptation of the classic F. Scott Fitzgerald novel of the same name. The principal photography of the movie began this week in Sydney.

Other cast members for “The Great Gatsby” include Tobey Maguire, Joel Edgerton and Carey Mulligan. The film also features newcomer Elizabeth Debicki. Luhrmann is happy to shoot in his native Australia.

“The opportunity to make the film in Australia with the Bazmark creative team is very important to us; the assistance from Screen Australia and the NSW Government has made that possible,” he added.

The film will be distributed in 3D and 2D by Warner Bros Pictures and in certain territories by Village Roadshow Pictures.

Vidya Balan marries Siddharth Roy Kapur?

Vidya Balan has recently been a lot in the news. Vidya has been the talk of the town for her role in Ekta Kapoor's Dirty Picture where she essays the role of late South Indian actress Silk Smitha and is seen posing in short clothes revealing her cleavage.
However, the news making the rounds off late is her reported marriage with UTV head Siddharth Roy Kapur. Vidya Balan laughed off the piece of news in a recent interview. In fact both Siddharth Roy Kapur and Vidya have even denied being in a relationship.

However, a leading newspaper has reported that the Dirty Picture actress and Kapur have recently bought a flat near Rizvi College in Bandra, one of the posh locality in Mumbai. The two are reported to marry in the year 2012.

Well, whether there is any truth in it or not is something that only Vidya Balan and Siddharth Roy Kapur can say for now!

Salman Khan wishes ‘Eid Mubarak’ to his fans

Salman Khan missed the release of his much awaited ‘Bodyguard’ as he is in USA for the treatment of his nerve disorder. However, besides the release of his movie, Salman misses his city and its celebrations on the auspicious occasion of Eid.

The macho star said, “I wish I could’ve been in the city during this time but I just couldn’t move around with this pain anymore.” However, Salman wished everyone on this special day and added: “But I do wish everyone Eid Mubarak.”

Salman also could not observe Roza this Eid because of his medications. Nevertheless, he wished a very happy Eid to all his fans saying, “Health, happiness, peace and success for all of us.”

Dino Morea taking part in Bigg Boss 5

Colors is again going to air Bigg Boss 5 and speculation is high that Dino Morea will be a part of the show. The channel is considering Dino as one of the housemates.  If Dino agrees then it would be his second innings in television.  Last year, he participated in ‘Khatron ke Khiladi’ hosted by Priyanka Chopra.
Before signing the show, Dino wanted to consult with the host and actor of the show Salman Khan and hence he dropped in at Film City to meet Sallu where the actor was shooting for India's Got Talent for the same channel as part of his promotions for Bodyguard.
Says a source, "Everyone was surprised to see Dino hanging around. He spent a considerable time with Salman and even had dinner with him. It appears that he was seeking the star's opinion whether he should or not be part of his show."
For quite sometime, Dino disappeared from the film industry and hope this show can give his career some lift.
However Dino maintains, "I am not doing Bigg Boss. I was there because my company is doing Bodyguard's merchandise."
